Bolt has launched a new feature to make airport pickups less stressful and more convenient. Flight Tracking for Scheduled Rides will automatically adjust your ride’s pick-up time if your flight is delayed — or cancel it entirely at no charge if your flight is cancelled.
No More Missed Rides After Flights
This new feature is under ‘Scheduled Rides’ in the app. Here’s how it works: when booking a ride from the airport, you simply tap ‘Schedule’, enter your flight details like flight number, airline, landing date or departure city and let Bolt handle the rest.
The app will then track your flight in real time and update your driver’s arrival time if your plane is running late. If your flight is cancelled, your scheduled ride will also be cancelled — automatically and without any extra charges.
According to Dimmy Kanyankole, Bolt’s General Manager for Kenya and Tanzania, “This new feature gives our regular and Bolt Business customers peace of mind by ensuring their airport rides are always in sync with their actual flight schedules.”
Why This Matters
Airport rides are one of the most booked trips on Bolt globally. Missed connections, delayed flights and confusing pick-up points can often turn airport travel into a headache. Bolt’s flight tracking tool is the answer to this problem.
And that’s not all — Bolt is going beyond just the digital experience.
Making Airport Pickups More User Friendly
To improve the overall airport experience, Bolt has introduced several physical and in-app upgrades:
In-app photo guides to help you find the right pick-up spots.
Better signage at airports to help you identify Bolt vehicles faster.
Pick-up codes at certain airports like Kotoka International in Ghana, which makes it easier for riders and drivers to locate each other.
For Personal and Business Travelers
This flight tracking tool isn’t just for solo travelers. Bolt says the feature will be a big plus for corporate users, especially those using Bolt Business, by making airport logistics more predictable and reducing the chances of no-shows or delays in client pickups.
