Verto, a global leader in financial technology for cross-border payments and foreign exchange for businesses, has launched a new office in Nairobi, Kenya. This is a big sign of Verto’s growing investment in the East African region and commitment to simplifying global trade for businesses in emerging markets.
Nairobi: The Gateway to East Africa
Located at The Address, Muthangari Dr, Nairobi, the new office will be the central point for Verto’s operations in East Africa. This will allow Verto to improve customer experience, build regional partnerships and provide localised payment solutions for businesses doing international transactions.
Founded in 2018, Verto enables businesses in emerging markets to make seamless cross-border payments through a fast, secure and scalable platform. The company now operates in 170+ countries and 49 currencies. With Africa playing a bigger role in the global economy, Nairobi was the obvious choice for Verto’s expansion.
Verto’s Investment in Africa
According to Ola Oyetayo, CEO and Co-founder of Verto, the launch of the Nairobi office is a big deal for the company, going beyond just physical presence. “Kenya’s digital infrastructure, entrepreneurial spirit and regional influence makes it the perfect gateway to the African continent,” he said.
Oyetayo says having a local presence in Kenya will allow Verto to provide faster, smarter and more inclusive financial solutions for seamless trade between businesses in Africa and the rest of the world.
Local Operations and Talent Development
The new Nairobi office follows Verto’s strong performance in the African market, with growing demand from businesses looking to overcome the traditional challenges of high transaction fees, delays and lack of transparency in cross-border transactions. James Njoroge, Operations Manager for Verto in Kenya, plans to invest in local talent development and create job growth and skills-building opportunities within Kenya’s growing fintech ecosystem. “Our new office is not just a workplace, it’s a base for innovation and collaboration,” he said. Njoroge added that the Nairobi office will house teams across key operations including compliance, customer support and partner engagement which are critical to Verto’s frictionless cross-border financial services.
Beyond Kenya: Serving East Africa
The Nairobi office will not only serve Kenya but also Uganda and Tanzania. By having a strong presence in East Africa, Verto is positioning itself to unlock global trade for businesses across the region.
As Njoroge put it, “Kenyan businesses face unique challenges when trading internationally. With our expanded presence, we’ll be better equipped to support them with accessible, reliable and efficient financial tools that meet their needs.”
Celebrating the New Office
On September 24, Verto celebrated the launch of the Nairobi office with an exclusive event. The event brought together banking partners, press, customers and Verto team members to mark the start of a new chapter for the company in Kenya.
