Absa Bank Kenya is shaking up the savings game with its three-month Deposit and Win campaign, aptly named Shinda Milli na Absa Assist. In a strategic move to encourage savings during the ongoing Premier League season, Absa is weaving the excitement of football into the fabric of financial responsibility.

Positioned as the Official Banking Partner of the Premier League in Africa, Absa is not just orchestrating a savings initiative but crafting an experience that resonates with the passion for football in Kenya. The campaign offers three fortunate Kenyans a monthly shot at a grand prize of Kes1 million, with over 100 additional winners set to claim guaranteed daily, weekly, and biweekly wins, some reaching up to Kes250,000.

Beyond the allure of winning, this campaign is a testament to Absa’s dedication to engaging with its customer base and fostering a culture of savings. By synchronizing the initiative with the Premier League season, Absa is not merely a financial institution but a strategic player catering to the diverse interests of its clientele.

The timing of this promotion aligns seamlessly with Absa’s recent decision to elevate the interest rate on deposits in the Absa Digital Savings account. Effective from December 12, 2023, the interest rate climbs from 9 percent to a solid 10 percent per year, remaining in force until the end of March 2024.

Simon Gachahi, Absa Bank’s Head of Liabilities, emphasized the bank’s commitment to sharing the fervor of the Premier League. “We share the passion and excitement of the Premier League through activations, events, and exclusive experiences with legends and players, not just locally but across the continent.”

This commitment extends beyond football, with Absa having invested over KES 1.2 billion in Kenya’s sports sector over the last decade. From athletics to football (via Premier League sponsorship) and golf, the bank recognizes the integral role sports play in society.

Gachahi elaborated on the campaign’s broader goal: “Through this campaign, we are empowering Kenyans in retail or business with the financial assist, just like in football, to achieve their goals and aspirations. Our long-term aim is to strengthen our relationships with our customers, where they can benefit from their deposits and hard-earned savings.”

In the grand scheme of things, the campaign promises daily draws, weekly draws, bi-weekly draws, and the ultimate monthly grand prize of Kes1,000,000. Conveniently, deposits can be made through various channels, including M-PESA Paybill 303030, cash-accepting ATMs, Absa branches, and Postbank outlets, alongside the lender’s agency banking partners.

In the game of savings, Absa is not just a player; it’s the coach, motivating Kenyans to score big with their finances while enjoying the thrill of the Premier League.
