How to Pay Using the Official USSD Code (*721#)
Dial *721# from your Safaricom line.
Select 1: Pay
Choose the type of service (e.g., Vehicle, Mkokoteni, Bicycles or Tuk Tuk ).
Enter Vehicle details:
If you’re in a vehicle: Enter the vehicle registration number.
Enter Vehicle Category.
Select car state (e.g empty, loaded or towing)
Select Payment mode eg via eCitizen
Confirm the amount based on your vehicle type or category.
You will receive a prompt from M-PESA to authorize the payment.
Enter your M-PESA PIN to complete the transaction.
You’ll receive an SMS confirmation with your digital ferry ticket. Present this to the KFS staff at the entry point.

Pedestrians: Free of charge
Motorbikes: Approx. Ksh 60
Private vehicles: Approx. Ksh 120
Matatus and buses: Ksh 200 – Ksh 300+
Trucks and heavy vehicles: Ksh 400 and above
