Empowering Local Economies and Enterprises
Since its inauguration in January 2024, the Homa Bay branch has grown rapidly, with over 1,000 new accounts opening within just a few months. That is due largely to NCBA's targeted engagement in various key economic sectors within the region, among them retail trade, transport, agriculture, education, and the blue economy.
Speaking during the launch event, NCBA Group Director of Retail Banking Mr. Tirus Mwithiga reiterated the bank's commitment to local community development. "The opening of this branch is a demonstration of our commitment to bring our services closer to our customers," he said. "Our presence here is not only about financial growth but also about empowering individuals, small businesses, and organizations with the resources and the knowledge about finances they need to prosper."
Key Partnerships and Economic Impact
The event was also attended by Homa Bay Governor Hon. Gladys Wanga, who welcomed the move by NCBA, observing that financial institutions remain critical enablers in stimulating economic activity. This is because Homa Bay County has close to 1.2 million people and boasts a very promising blue economy, therefore providing fertile ground for business. As it were, Governor Wanga said, "We believe that with the services offered by NCBA, the businesses in Homa Bay are set to thrive. Such kind of partners are right for our county because their focus is on propelling our people to greater heights."
NCBA will contribute to the development in the region through such specialized banking products as investment solutions, insurance packages, asset financing, and digital banking services. Strategic focuses by the bank include partnerships with Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs) to empower these organizations to serve their members even better.
A Vision for Long-Term Growth
The new branch at Glory Plaza, Homa Bay, demonstrates NCBA's ambition to tap into unexploited market opportunities within sections where the population is grossly unserved. As part of its expansion plans, the bank intends to partner closely with county government authorities and the people within the communities to roll out custom financial packages aligned to the developmental agenda of the county.
With this, NCBA will bridge the gaps in finance, support SMEs for economic resilience in Homa Bay County. This new branch is not only a strategic business expansion for NCBA but also reflective of the company's bigger mission: driving financial empowerment across Kenya.
Therefore, NCBA welcomes all interested customers to the new branch for discussions of account options and utilization of the various financial services available at their convenience.
