The Pacesetters Awards (PSA), an international accolade for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Mid-sized institutions, will honor top companies from 10 countries across East Africa. Organized by Jubilant Stewards of Africa (JSA), the awards celebrate industry leaders’ economic and social impact, innovation, quality products, service delivery, job creation, exemplary leadership, and contributions to transforming society.

Jared Oundo, Executive Director of JSA, highlighted the rigorous selection process that considers both quantitative and qualitative factors in determining the winners. The nominees for the 2023 awards have demonstrated excellence and have been recognized in other prestigious surveys and international ceremonies such as the Top KPMG 100 Survey.

Among the new entrants are prominent organizations like Westlands Laser Eye Hospital, Rentokil Initial Pest Control, Kifaru Properties, Ninia Honey, Simpet Kenya (Digital Advertising firm), Sun King lanterns and home Systems Dealer, Madaraka Homes, Eden Bridge Capital Limited, Strathmore University Foundation, Mahiga Homes Fanaka Real Estate, Jambo Freight Limited from Tanzania, Spik and Span Limited Tanzania, Inter-Consult Ltd Tanzania, Brett and Baileys (T) Limited, and Raphael Logistics Limited Tanzania.

The survey, which took place from April 2, 2022, to April 30, 2023, witnessed a strong partnership with various institutions to ensure the success of the Awards across different countries. Notable partners from the previous year included Safaricom, Vehicle and Equipment Leasing Ltd (VAELL), United SMES Association of Kenya, Service Cops Ltd Uganda, and Quipbank Trust Limited.

The regional awards ceremony will take place on June 30 at Nairobi’s Weston Hotel, with President William Ruto expected as the chief guest. The event will feature a gala dinner attended by high-profile guests and government officials. Mary Boniface, CEO of JSA Kenya, emphasized the organization’s mission to foster a better society by encouraging companies to continuously strive for excellence.
