Safaricom, has partnered with the County Government of Elgeyo Marakwet to roll out an innovative digital platform known as the myCounty app. The goal of this collaboration is to streamline county operations and services through a convenient, single access channel.

Thanks to the myCounty app, citizens can now effortlessly access a range of county services, including parking payment and single business permits. Additionally, the platform will provide residents with emergency services such as ambulance, police, and fire services with the tap of a button.

Revenue management, business intelligence systems, cash and bank reconciliation, credit control, and debt management are just a few of the additional capabilities that counties will benefit from. The app will be hosted on Safaricom’s Cloud infrastructure, which will provide Big Data and Analytics Solutions, as well as digital receipts and electronic notifications for users.

Safaricom has already launched the myCounty App in Makueni County and signed an MOU with the County Government of Nairobi to develop and support the “My Nairobi App.” Cynthia Karuri-Kropac, the Chief Enterprise Business Officer at Safaricom, emphasized the importance of adapting and evolving governments to meet changing global needs.

Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich lauded the move, stating that his county will now have increased visibility into revenue collection and performance, while also enabling citizens to access county services from anywhere in the world.

myCounty app marks a significant step in revolutionizing how county services are accessed and managed in Kenya. With a range of features and capabilities, the platform promises to improve revenue collection while making it easier for citizens to access key services and engage with their Governors.
